Tim Wise & Rev. Wright!!!

While in class, we watched two youtube videos of Tim Wise and Rev. Wright. I felt as though both men were very passionate about what they were saying even though Rev. Wright's speech sparked controversy. I enjoyed Tim Wise's speech the best because he gave both sides of different arguments and, used that to make his points. I felt as though he was finally someone who spoke based on facts and not someone who felt obligated to defend people based on certain biases. Rev. Wright had a nice speech also but, I felt as though it was just another speech about America and its flaws. He pointed out the obvious and the points that most people could have drawn themselves. Wise made you think deeply and question society. Overall it was nice hearing what both men had to say; provided that, hearing more than one voice gives us chance to form an educated opinon.

Starting Today

Starting today I have decided that following my dreams are actually going to be the key to my success. I have always enjoyed being nosy and knowing everything about people. Some might call it sick or psycho but that's just who I am. I will research a person to see who they really are to avoid later conflicts so actually I'm just being responsible with a little extra. I will spend hours on different blog and tabloid sights to see whats going on in Hollywood. Bossip, Realitytea, E news!, 808's and cupcakes, just to name a few; are sights that I die for. I'm more interested in gossip and entertainment news. Working for E News! would be my ultimate DREAM! I could die after I have become a news correspondent for that particular network. I understand that I will need some more knowledge about world news and national events to get further in my future career. I am expecting to gain a massive amount of knowledge about mass media through readings, experiences, and networking. I feel that I have many resources and people that will help me get to where I'm trying to go so that makes this class very important to me.
